Jill Rodgers

Mechanical Engineering Major at Bucknell University

Jill is a 2017 Open Rivers Scholar and currently a rising senior at Bucknell University studying mechanical engineering. She is a B-WISE scholar and the Co-President of the Bucknell chapter of the Society of Women Engineers, providing both internal support to other students and conducting outreach with Lewisburg children's groups and girl scout troops.

At Bucknell, Jill is enjoying her hand-on experiences and opportunities to get involved with the Bucknell community. As part of a new initiative to help incoming freshman engineers feel more supported, Jill is starting her role as a Garman Guide for the College of Engineering. Additionally, she is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers after previously serving as the chapter secretary. In her free time, Jill plays viola in the Bucknell Orchestra, rides on the equestrian team, and loves to read.

We had a chance to catch up with Jill both in her first year in college and following her junior year. You can read the interviews in the Open Rivers’ journal
