Meet the guest

Dr. Raffaella Commitante began her teaching career in California, working in both middle and high schools, prior to receiving a PhD in Biological Anthropology from the University of Cambridge. Following the completion of her doctorate, she worked in the field before returning to teach at the University level. As a result of her work in the field, she became involved with the Orangutan Conservancy moving from volunteer, to board member, to her current role as president. She also co-founded the Orangutan Veterinary Advisory Group Workshops which have been running yearly since 2009 and is a lecturer in the Division of Anthropology at California State University - Fullerton.
